玄璞隨形端硯

此件為「玄璞隨形端硯」——「玄」取端石黑潤沉穩之質，「璞」喻其如璞玉般未經過度雕琢的本真肌理，「隨形」則對應依石材天然輪廓雕琢的器型特點，是中國四大名硯之首端硯的經典作品。

它選用廣東肇慶端溪特產端石雕琢而成，端石形成於數億年前地質運動，質地細膩緊密，內含金黃、銀色天然硯眼（石中結晶斑），自古便有「硯出端溪始為貴」之說。器型遵循「因石施藝」古法：保留石材原始邊緣的樸拙紋理，硯池弧度順滑與硯面自然過渡，既顯石質本真，又藏匠工巧思。

作為文房重器，其發墨益毫性能極為出色：端石硬度適中，研磨墨汁細膩亮澤且不損筆鋒；儲墨區保濕防乾，隔夜墨汁不易凝結。「玄璞隨形端硯」既是古代文人書畫的實用器具，更是集材質、工藝與東方文房審美於一體的藝術品，體現文房器物的文化價值與收藏意義。

This piece is the Xuanpu Free-form Duan Inkstone: “Xuan” refers to the Duan Stone’s black, moist and calm texture; “Pu” compares it to uncarved jade, highlighting its authentic, minimally polished character; “Free-form” corresponds to its shape carved according to the stone’s natural contours—it is a classic work of Duan Inkstone, the top-ranked among China’s Four Famous Inkstones.

Carved from Duan Stone (exclusive to Duanxi, Zhaoqing, Guangdong), which formed via geological movements hundreds of millions of years ago, the stone has a dense, fine texture and contains natural golden or silver “Inkstone Eyes” (crystalline spots in the stone). An ancient saying notes, “An inkstone is precious only if it comes from Duanxi”. Its shape follows the traditional “stone-adapted craftsmanship”: retaining the rustic raw edges of the original stone, the ink reservoir’s smooth curve transitions naturally with the grinding surface, showcasing the stone’s inherent character while hiding the craftsman’s ingenuity.

As a key stationery artifact, its ink-grinding and brush-friendly performance is exceptional: the Duan Stone’s moderate hardness produces smooth, glossy ink without damaging brush bristles; the ink reservoir keeps ink moist, even overnight ink rarely solidifies.
